Jon Sarkin (1953–2024)
Jon Sarkin was an outsider artist whose prolific output spanned three decades following a catastrophic stroke in 1989. Working from his studio in Gloucester, Massachusetts, he produced an estimated twenty thousand drawings, paintings, collages, and mixed-media works before his death in July 2024. His practice has been the subject of peer-reviewed scholarship, a bestselling biography, and international exhibition.
